The Baltimore Ravens drafted Rashod Bateman in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft and have now made a crucial decision on their starting quarterback Lamar Jackson.

The Ravens made the easy decision to keep Jackson and are now working on an extension, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

This was always a no-brainer for Baltimore, who named Jackson and have watched him flourish into one of the top quarterbacks in the league. He was selected with the final pick in the first round in the 2018 NFL Draft and immediately took over as the Ravens starter.

In 2020, he finished the year with 2757 yards and 26 touchdowns through the air while adding another 1000 yards and seven scores on the ground as the Ravens made their way back to the playoffs.

The best news for Jackson besides the option was the selection of Bateman in the first round, giving Lamar a bonafide number one receiving threat for a team that has severely struggled in the passing game.

As it turns out, Jackson should be a Raven for a long time and an extension should be on the horizon sooner rather than later for the Ravens star signal-caller.

For now, Jackson will enjoy his option being picked up as the Ravens look to compete for an AFC North division title with the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, and Pittsburgh Steelers.
