The Dez Bryant sweepstakes are well underway following the Dallas Cowboys' decision to part ways with the veteran wide receiver last week. There's been no shortage of interest from players around the league trying to recruit Bryant to their team, but it remains to be seen which teams are willing to actually bring him in.

The most recent lobbying has come from safety Eric Weddle of the Baltimore Ravens. Baltimore has been rumored as a potential destination for Bryant and Weddle has admittedly already reached out to the free agent wideout about possibly joining him in Baltimore, via Josh Alper of Pro Basketball Talk.

“I’ve reached out to him,” Weddle said. “Dez is an amazing player, passionate, competitive, everything you want in a teammate. For a guy like that who just came off a tough situation, you just want what’s best for him and where he feels comfortable.”

The Ravens brass has been putting an emphasis on bolstering the receiving corps for veteran quarterback Joe Flacco this NFL offseason. The team recently signed Michael Crabtree while also bringing in John Brown.

Clearly, Baltimore wants to improve on the offensive side of the football after missing the postseason last year. Adding Bryant into the mix with Crabtree and Brown would definitely be a step in the right direction if they choose to go that route.

Although Baltimore appears to be interested with Ravens players doing their part to recruit him, Bryant has yet to dub a frontrunner for his services. However, he favors returning to the NFC East division with an opportunity to play the Cowboys twice a year giving him an opportunity to enact some form of revenge on his former team.
