Eric Weddle and the Baltimore Ravens started the season off hot and looked to be serious contenders in the AFC. Unfortunately, they have cooled off over the last few weeks. Following their Week 8 loss to the Carolina Panthers, the Ravens hold a 4-4 record, which places them third in the AFC North division.

After the loss to the Panthers, Weddle made it clear that he was not happy with the way the team has played. He made the comments in a press conference shared by the Ravens' official website.

“I don't like to say, ‘We're alright.' We're not alright. We just got blasted. … We're 4-4 — an average team. We just got blown out. I wouldn't say it's rock bottom, but we have to look at ourselves and get back to work.”

Baltimore has simply struggled with consistency this season. The offense has shown flashes of brilliance, but has also been stagnant at times. Defensively, the Ravens have been extremely solid, ranking No. 6 overall in total defense.

Joe Flacco and company have to figure things out moving forward. Baltimore will have a chance to get back on track this week at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Pulling out a win in that big of a divisional game would be a big step towards getting back to being a team to watch in the conference.

Having a leader like Weddle is invaluable for the Ravens. He is not scared to say it like it is and hopefully, his words will get the team's attention.

Expect to see the Ravens look to bounce back strong with a big win against the Steelers. They know that they need a win to keep pace in the division and will bring everything they have.
