The Baltimore Ravens made a splash in the 2018 NFL Draft when they traded into the first round to select quarterback Lamar Jackson. As a result, there has been plenty of speculation regarding how long it will take for him to replace quarterback Joe Flacco.

Needless to say, Flacco has heard all the questions about his heir apparent. According to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic, he hopes to put an end to it by winning:

Flacco says he won’t get Annoyed by Lamar Jackson questions “because I think we’re going to win and I’m not going to hear about it.”

It is tough to deal with relenting questions about one's replacement every day. Reports about the extra pep in Flacco's step have even been credited to the presence of Jackson. Unfortunately, the doubts are well-warranted given the veteran's performance last season.

Baltimore had been in control of their playoff destiny down the final stretch of the 2017 campaign. However, they were unable to get the job thanks to a number of deficiencies on both sides of the ball. Although it would be unfair to pin the blame on Flacco, one cannot ignore the fact that he had endured arguably the worst year of his career.

That said, it was only a matter of time before they found his potential replacement. The rookie's versatile skill set brings some much-needed explosiveness to this offense. This means Flacco cannot afford to put on any more stale performances, especially with a player like Jackson waiting in the wings.
