The Baltimore Ravens ushered in a bit of a youth movement this offseason. As a result, quarterback Joe Flacco was ultimately traded to the Denver Broncos.

Flacco's departure truly marks the end of an era in the Ravens organization. He thanked the franchise and its fans for all their support in his career with a post on Twitter:

To the Ravens, the fans, and the city of Baltimore: Thank you for an incredible 11 years. I’ll always be proud and grateful for my time spent as your quarterback. Though it’s time to move on, this team will always mean so much to me.

This is undoubtedly a classy move from Flacco. He did not have the most ceremonious departure from Baltimore after essentially being replaced due to injury, however, he clearly understands that it was time for both sides to move on.

Flacco arrived in Baltimore as the immediate starter after being taken with the 18th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft. Although most of the Ravens' success can be attributed to the elite defense he played, he proved to be more than just a viable starting quarterback. He was eventually able to lead the Ravens to a win over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII en route to MVP honors.

The 34-year-old will now have a chance at a fresh start in Denver to likely finish out the final stint of his career. Joe Flacco has endured some rough seasons under center in recent years from a production standpoint. Regardless, the Broncos are hoping his championship pedigree will help them get back into playoff relevancy.
