Marquise Brown was unable to have the rookie season he envisioned in 2019 due to a nagging foot injury. After having his rookie season hindered by injuries, Lamar Jackson believes Brown is poised for a breakout year with the Baltimore Ravens in 2020.

“I feel like he’s going to have a huge jump, more than people may think,” Jackson said, via the team’s website. “He was hurt last year, people didn’t know that, but he went out there and battled his tail off each and every game on a messed up foot. Now his full potential is going to show this year I feel. He’s still young, but he’s going to show off. My job is to get the ball out quicker, because he’s a lot faster with that foot 100 percent.”

As the No. 25 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Brown got off to a blazing start in 2019. The former Sooner would proceed to haul in four passes for 147 yards and two touchdowns in Week 1 versus the Miami Dolphins. It was evident that Brown and Jackson had immediate chemistry.

However, a foot injury early in the season would prevent Brown from consistently producing. Still, the speedy wideout would finish the season with a modest 46 receptions for 584 yards and seven touchdowns.

Earlier this offseason, Brown underwent surgery to remove a screw in his foot that was inserted during his college days at Oklahoma. While being able to get one-hundred percent healthy this offseason, Brown believes he'll put the league on notice in 2020. Given his recent comments, it appears that Lamar Jackson shares the same sentiment as his No. 1 wide receiver.
