The Baltimore Ravens are now left with a huge void in their offense ahead of free agency. After spending 13 seasons with the Ravens, Marshal Yanda is deciding to announce his retirement this offseason.

Since the end of the 2019 season, Yanda was contemplating his options for the future. If Yanda were to return for next season, he would be playing out the final year of his contract. But instead of returning for another season, Yanda is prepared to begin his life after football.

Back in 2007, the Ravens drafted Yanda in the third round of the draft out of Iowa. Despite being a third-round pick, Yanda immediately became a cornerstone of Baltimore's offensive line.

Throughout his career, the Iowa product would start in 166 games for the Ravens. With those 166 starts, Yanda made eight Pro Bowls and was named an All-Pro twice. Above all, he helped Baltimore secure it's second Super Bowl in franchise history in 2013.

Due to Yanda retiring, the Ravens could look to target his replacement in free agency or in the 2020 NFL Draft. This past season, Yanda was crucial to Baltimore boasting the No. 1 ranked rushing attack in the NFL. Over the past couple of seasons, Yanda and Orlando Brown formed a formidable duo on the right side of the offensive line.

Following his retirement, Yanda becomes just the third guard in NFL history to make eight Pro Bowls and win a Super Bowl. The other two to achieve that feat are Larry Allen and Alan Faneca. While it remains to be seen what Yanda plans on doing after football, it's likely that his next stop is in Canton.
