The return of quarterback Johnny Manziel has been one of the darkhorse storylines going into the offseason. It seemingly took on a whole new level when Baltimore Ravens defensive backs Tony Jefferson and Marlon Humphrey gave Manziel a shout out on Instagram.

As a result, there are rumors swirling that Baltimore could potentially be interested in bringing in the troublesome quarterback. However, there seems to be little to no chance the Ravens even think about signing Manziel, according to ESPN's Jamison Hensley:

It's unlikely to happen for a myriad of reasons, from Manziel's nonstop partying to his struggles on the field. But it really has no shot unless the Ravens change a team rule issued by owner Steve Bisciotti. After the Ray Rice scandal, the Ravens made it clear they won't draft or sign anyone who has had a domestic violence incident in his background.

“Domestic abuse?” Bisciotti said in January 2017. “Not taking them.”

That said, Manziel's track record off the field would automatically disqualify him from contention for a potential spot on the Ravens' quarterback depth chart. Furthermore, it is unlikely that general manager Ozzie Newsome would want to sign him in his last offseason in the Ravens front office.

Manziel has made it clear that he has every intention of making a comeback to the league. Since then, he has garnered interest from teams north and south of the U.S. border. At this point, however, it seems he has a better chance of playing in the XFL than the NFL.
