Cincinnati Reds slugger Nick Castellanos instantly became a meme when he hit a home run right in the middle of announcer Thom Brennaman's on-air apology after he was caught on a hot mic using a homophobic slur in 2020. Brennaman almost seamlessly went from his apology to announcing “a drive deep into left field by Castellanos and that'll be a home run” right back to his apology.

Well, Castellanos did it again on Monday night.

The Reds played the Kansas City Royals on Monday, and the Royals broadcast was eulogizing the late father of the team's equipment manager. During the eulogy, Nick Castellanos, you guessed it, hit a deep drive to left field and went yard. And, of course, Twitter went wild:

Nick Castellanos is basically a legend at this point with these ill-timed home runs. The memes are endless and the internet never fails in moments like this. These jokes are going to made for the rest of his career and probably beyond. We'll see if he has any more moments like this.

It wouldn't be surprising if he does at this point. Castellanos is having a monster campaign, hitting .338 (second in MLB) with 17 home runs and 54 RBI. He's leading the majors in hits and has just been raking all season for a Reds team that has one of the better offenses in MLB.

Nick Castellanos at-bats are must-watch TV at this point, because you never know what you're going to see and what meme could be made next.
