Washington Redskins running back Derrius Guice has not played since Week 1, but interim head coach Bill Callahan says that Guice is on track to return in Week 11, according to JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington.

Guice suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee during the Redskins' season opener, a game in which he carried the ball 10 times for 18 yards while also logging three catches for 20 yards.

The 22-year-old, who played his collegiate football at LSU, was originally selected by Washington in the second round (59th pick overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Guice was expected to be a major piece in the Redskins' offense during his rookie campaign, but he tore his ACL in the preseason, prematurely ending his first year in the league.

Once again, heading into 2019, Guice was supposed to be a key cog in Washington's offensive attack, but another knee injury stalled his progress.

Fortunately, the most recent knee issue was not as severe as the first instance, but it is still a rather big concern that Guice has incurred two significant knee injuries while playing just one game in two seasons.

The Redskins' offense needs all the help it can get, as it ranks 30th in the NFL in both yards and points, a big reason why Washington is just 1-7 on the season.

Most recently, the Redskins lost to the Minnesota Vikings by a score of 19-9, and two weeks ago, they were shut out in a nine-point loss at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers.

Washington will take on the Buffalo Bills next Sunday.
