Washington Redskins Dwayne Haskins has no issue with a new head coach coming in next season, but he doesn't want to deal with a new offensive coordinator.

According to John Keim of ESPN, Haskins told the media he has enjoyed his time working with offensive coordinator Kevin O'Connell and he would like him to be brought back next season.

Haskins got off to a slow start during his time with the Redskins, but he finally seemed to be hitting his stride before having his season cut short due to an ankle injury. Before going out with an injury against the New York Giants, he threw for 133 yards and two touchdowns. In his last two starts, he didn't throw any interceptions and after having a turnover issue earlier in the season, that was a key.

O'Connell was also proud of the improvements his rookie quarterback made.

“I think [his growth] was ongoing all the way up until his last snap there when he got hurt there at the start of the second half the other day,” O'Connell said on Friday, via team transcript. “I was so proud of him.”

The Redskins next coach will probably get his choice of offensive coordinator, but it would make a lot of sense for the team to stick with McConnell.

Dwayne Haskins is finally making strides and it could be a setback if a new offensive coordinator was introduced. Look for the Redskins' coaching search to go fairly quickly, so an answer regarding McConnell's future in Washington should come soon.
