The Washington Redskins made some major changes this offseason amidst their disappointing finish to the 2017 campaign. However, it appears their expectations remain as high as ever for some players on the team.

Among them is running back Kapri Bibbs. According to Stephen Czarda of the team's official website, Bibbs is hoping to end the year with his second championship ring:

“I’m trying to go for Super Bowl No. 2,” Bibbs said. “I think that we have a great thing going right now. I think [quarterback] Alex [Smith] is phenomenal, he’s a great leader. He knows exactly how to control the guys in the huddle and control the field. You just watch him out there and he knows how to get out of the pocket and he knows where he’s at and he understands where guys are at all times. You can’t ask for a better guy to step in and do what he’s doing right now.”

Bibbs was fortunate enough to win Super Bowl 50 with the Denver Broncos in his rookie season. Now that he has experienced winning the pinnacle achievement in football, he is hungry for another taste. It is clear that part of the reason for his optimism is the arrival of former Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith. Washington made a splash when they acquired Smith via trade this offseason to serve as quarterback Kirk Cousins' replacement.

Bibbs' expectations for the team may seem a bit far-fetched after missing the playoffs for the second consecutive season. During that time, both the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys managed to capture the No. 1 seed in the NFC Conference. Outside of Smith, they have done little to catch up with the Eagles and Cowboys as far as roster talent goes.

Regardless, Bibbs will have to do what he can to make sure he is a part of the journey. The former undrafted free agent appeared in just three games last season. Washington's backfield has gotten a bit more crowded since then with the arrival of running back Derrius Guice.
