The Washington Redskins signed Landon Collins to a big contract this offseason, and they finally are seeing him on the field. Collins was recovering from offseason surgery which caused him to miss the first couple OTAs, but he has been on the field for every practice this week.

Coach Jay Gruden said the team is still being very cautious with him and although he is still constrained the team is happy he is on the field.

“We’re still very cautious with the shoulder,” head coach Jay Gruden said, via the Pro Football Talk. “But he feels good and we’re trying to get him in some 7-on-7 drills. I want to get him lined up when we have walk-throughs so he can communicate the defense and get lined up. Then at his own discretion, and the trainers’ discretion, he’ll do some team periods every now and then just making sure he’s careful.”

It seems he is very limited, and the team is making sure they don't do anything to reinjury the shoulder that had surgery. Collins signed a six-year $84 million contract with almost $45 million guaranteed and the last thing the team needs is for Collins to have his play affected.

As long as there aren't any setbacks, the expectation is that Collins will be ready to be a full participant in training camp. For now, the team will take as much as they can get out of Collins while being ultra-cautious with the former first-round pick.
