Former Washington Redskins and Cleveland Browns quarterback, Robert Griffin III, is currently unemployed, but that’s not stopping him from turning heads and grabbing headlines of late.
In the midst of defending himself on Twitter from critical accusations hurled at him by former Washington teammate Santana Moss, Griffin reiterated that he was never given a fair shake by his former head coach, Mike Shanahan. Griffin even added that the playing environment created by Shanahan made it hard for him to excel.
Put in an impossible situation w/ a coach who never wanted me. Made players like Santana Moss a believer through hard work, film study…

The saga of Griffin’s relationship with Shanahan was among the most disappointing chapters of the team’s franchise under the ownership of Dan Snyder.
In Griffin’s eyes, Shanahan was to blame for the debacle and his downfall in Washington.
Next year coach wants out, says he wants out, says he never wanted me as his QB & I GET BLAMED? C'mon man. I have been the good soldier.

Griffin arrived in Washington in 2012, as the team’s second-pick overall in the 2012 NFL Draft. He electrified Redskins fans in leading the team to the playoffs that year but suffered serious knee injuries that needed surgeries the following offseason.
The next season, Griffin and Shanahan’s relationship appeared to have gotten worse. Griffin was welded to the bench by the head coach for the final three games of the campaign. Shanahan was then fired at the end of Redskins’ season with the team finishing with just a 3-13 record.
Ideally, for Griffin, he’d be playing in the NFL these days than playing with words on Twitter, but this latest rant from the former Heisman Trophy winner might just be another red flag for potential suitors of the quarterback.
