At this point, if you have ever come in contact with current Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay, there is a pretty solid chance that you may get a crack at the NFL coaching ranks sometime very soon. With the youngster in McVay already creating quite the coaching pipeline throughout the league, it appears as though the Rams leader has also become an icon in the process.

The latest coach to draw a comparison to the Super Bowl-bound McVay is Washington Redskins passing game coordinator-turned-offensive coordinator Kevin O'Connell. While recently receiving a promotion from the NFC East franchise, O'Connell was quickly praised by current Carolina Panthers wide receiver Torrey Smith while the veteran pass catcher has already tabbed the up-and-coming coach as “The next McVay.”

It is worth noting that Smith and O'Connell previously spent time together in the Bay Area back in 2016 as the tandem were members of the San Francisco 49ers organization. Smith was a wide receiver, of course, while O'Connell served as an offensive assistant for the 49ers.

Smith wasn't done heaping praise upon O'Connell just yet either as the Panthers wideout continued to take to social media to express his opinion.

Of course, the aforementioned McVay is also a product of the Redskins system, having served as the team's assistant tight ends coach, tight ends coach and finally offensive coordinator between 2010 and 2016. Now, the 33-year-old McVay will become the youngest head coach to ever coach in a Super Bowl with his Rams taking on the heralded New England Patriots.
