The Washington Redskins have had plenty of injuries on offense, and one of their players is now done for the rest of the season. After trying to battle his way back onto the field, Vernon Davis has been placed on season-ending injured reserve.

Back in Week 4, Davis suffered a concussion against the New York Giants. As a result, the veteran tight end has missed the past six games for the Redskins in 2019.

To begin the season, Davis was the starting tight end in the offense due to Jordan Reed being sidelined with a concussion. Over the first four weeks, Davis had 10 receptions, 123 yards, and a touchdown.

With Davis heading to injured reserve, there's a legitimate chance that Davis decides to walk away from football at the age of 35. Last year, Davis also missed the final two games of the year because of a concussion.

Regardless of what Davis chooses to do, he had an impressive career considering where it was possibly headed. From 2006-2014, Davis became one of the best playmakers at the tight end position.

At the same time, he was beginning to cut his time short in San Francisco due to his antics off of the field. Then, in 2015, the athletic tight end was traded to the Denver Broncos.

After a one-year stint in Denver, Davis seemed to find his eventual home in Washington. Since 2016, Davis has been a remarkable member of the community in Washington and has been a leader in the locker room.

You hate to see injuries be the reason why a player has to retire from the game they love. In the event that Davis calls it quits after 2019, he can confidently say that he had a successful career in the NFL.
