The Ezekiel Elliott suspension saga continues with a potentially promising twist for the Dallas Cowboys on Friday ahead of their Week 1 matchup with the New York Giants.

Per Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News, Elliott is eligible to play in all 16 regular-season games for the Dallas Cowboys after temporary restraining order granted.

Apparently, a judge in Texas has granted an injunction which stops the NFL from enforcing the suspension, via Kate Hairopoulos of the Dallas Morning News.

Federal judge Amos Mazzant, of the Eastern District of Texas, ruled Friday to grant Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott a preliminary injunction. It prevents the NFL from enforcing its six-game suspension of Elliott.

Over the past few weeks, Elliott's immediate future with the Cowboys for the 2017 NFL season was uncertain. Elliott was expected to miss six games after being suspended by the league for violating the personal conduct policy.

After submitting an appeal, it was thought to be possible that the suspension could be significantly reduced. That didn't turn out to be the case with the six-game ban upheld.

Now it appears Elliott, for the time being, could be eligible to play in all 16 games for the Cowboys as the season opener approaches. This is obviously a big win for Dallas as losing arguably the best offensive weapon for the first six games of the season would've been costly, to say the least.
