After teasing fans for weeks, Riot finally revealed the newest agent for Valorant: Neon.

Not that Riot wanted to reveal her already, two weeks ahead of her planned release in Episode 4 Act 1. Rather, Amazon Prime Gaming accidentally released an artwork featuring the Filipino agent, something they immediately took down when they realized their mistake. Knowing that the image will soon make the rounds anyway, Riot announced her ahead of her scheduled release instead of keeping things under wraps. They posted a tweet, saying:

“Looks like some of you might be faster than our next Agent.”

The caption references Neon's supposed speed. She was codenamed Sprinter internally at Riot and her first visual preview was of her running shoes. These information might hint at her kit, but we currently don't have anything official on her so far.

Neon has been hinted at by Valorant over the past months, even going so far as teasing her origin – Manila, Philippines. This was done through voice lines by Chamber, Valorant‘s latest release before Neon, as well as through the language used in December's State of the Agents. Filipino fans will surely be thrilled, especially since Valorant continues to grow in the country. Philippines' Team Secret finished 5th-8th in last year's Valorant Champions 2021 in Berlin, Germany.
