Carmelo Anthony only played in 10 games with the Houston Rockets last season before the franchise exiled the future Hall of Famer.

Anthony shot a woeful 1-for-11 from the field on Nov. 8 against the Oklahoma City Thunder and then was never seen in a Rockets uniform ever again.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Rockets decided it was time to move on from Anthony for fit and on-court reasons, but he handled his short tenure in Houston with nothing but professionalism:

Anthony was a full participant in the Rockets’ practice on that Friday, Nov. 9, but both sides started to weigh his roster situation, leading to a divorce shortly thereafter. The team decided it was time to move on for fit and on-court reasons, nothing off-court, sources said. Anthony, the No. 3 overall pick in the vaunted 2003 NBA draft, deserved a better ending last season.

“He was amazing here, a real teammate and great with the coaches,” one Rockets source said. “It’s unfortunate what happened.”

In his 10 games with the Rockets, Carmelo Anthony averaged 13.4 points and 5.4 rebounds while shooting 40.5 percent from the field, 32.8 percent from beyond the arc and 68.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Houston traded Anthony to the Chicago Bulls on Jan 22. The Bulls waived Anthony on Feb. 1.

Unfortunately, Anthony didn't receive any interest from teams once he became a free agent. His future in the NBA is uncertain, as we are about to hit August and Melo is still on the open market.
