Houston Rockets superstar guard Russell Westbrook (it's still weird to say that) has a big fan in an NBA front office somewhere.

An anonymous NBA executive spoke glowingly about Westbrook after the Rockets agreed to a deal to acquire the former MVP from the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday.

“I love everything [Westbrook] stands for from a competitive standpoint,” a league executive told Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo Sports. “He never cheats the game. He gives you a shot each and every night. I have great respect for that and that’s made him the player he is today.”

Russell Westbrook has averaged a triple-double three seasons in a row. You don't accomplish that without being a cerebral talent who gives it his all every night. Does Westbrook play out of control sometimes? You bet. However, one thing we can never accuse the eight-time All-Star of is not doing everything in his power to win a basketball game.

The Rockets, particularly James Harden, are thrilled to bring Westbrook to Houston. The relationship between Harden and Chris Paul was inadequate. Harden and Westbrook are basically like brothers. The two MVPs are certainly going to have to adjust their games, but one thing we know is they aren't going to clash like Harden and Paul did.
