The Houston Rockets announcer gave James Harden a slight ribbing after forward Christian Wood completed a coast-to-coast lay-up.

Peep the clip below to see Wood take it all the way. Watch out for the Rockets' announcer's shade at Harden, who was actually on the floor.

The announcer's antics are pretty understandable. After all, for much of the offseason and the preseason, Harden has been involved with various controversies on and off the floor.

On the basketball court, the former league MVP has reportedly asked for a trade and listed the Philadelphia 76ers, Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, and the Brooklyn Nets as his preferred destinations. This does not bode well for Rockets fans who clearly want the Beard to stay.

Off the court, Harden has been spotted in clubs in Atlanta and Las Vegas. He downplayed such reports, noting that he was putting in some work with his personal trainers. But in the eyes of Rockets fans, it seems that Harden is losing focus.

Amid these controversies, Harden shared that he's committed to stay in shape and continue putting in the work.

“I can only focus on right now, and for me, the best James Harden is making sure I'm in shape,” Harden told reporters on Wednesday, per ESPN. “Like I said, I hadn't even had an opportunity to play 5-on-5. Individual workouts, when you do individual basketball training, is great, but as every NBA player can agree, there's nothing like 5-on-5 training, the physicality, making reads and things like that. Yesterday for my first time being out there, I felt good, and that's exciting.”

Perhaps only time will tell if Harden does remain a Rocket. But he has to win over the fans and the announcers once again.
