New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara made his third consecutive Pro Bowl this year despite missing multiple games.

Kamara says he essentially played on one leg for the majority of the season:

Kamara suffered an ankle injury back in October. In his next game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, he suffered a knee injury that made him questionable practically on a week-to-week basis for the remainder of the season.

Despite the injuries, however, Kamara managed to have some success. He ran for close to 800 yards on 4.7 yards per carry while also hauling in 81 receptions for 533 yards. However, Kamara did only score six total touchdowns after finding pay dirt 20 times during the 2018 season.

The Saints might be facing a predicament of their own when it comes to Kamara's status next year.

Mike Triplett of ESPN opined Kamara could miss the majority of the offseason if he elects to hold out:

Kamara has not announced any plans to do this. But it feels like a no-brainer since he is heading into the final year of a supremely discounted rookie contract (he was a third-round pick). Perhaps the Saints will pay Kamara quickly, like they did with wide receiverĀ Michael ThomasĀ last summer. But agreeing on Kamara's market value could prove more difficult since there aren't many perfect comparisons for him and since all NFL teams wrestle with how much to pay their backs.

The Saints have a number of other priorities to sort out before initiating potential extension talks, most notably re-signing quarterback Drew Brees.

Still, it seems likely they will look to lock up their star running back. Kamara still posted over 1,300 yards from scrimmage on a bum leg.
