“Brittany and I are committing $5,000,000 to the State of Louisiana in 2020. The priority now is helping our communities get through this tough time. After considerable research and conversations with local organizations, we will be mobilizing our partnerships with Second Harvest Food Bank, Ochsner Health Systems, Walk-Ons, Jimmy Johns, Smalls Sliders and Waitr to prepare and deliver over 10,000 meals per day throughout Louisiana for as long as it takes to children on meal programs, seniors, and families in need. Let’s all do our part, maintain hope, and get through this together.”

Brees just signed a tw0-year extension with the Saints worth $50 million, but this is still the largest donation to date by any player in the NFL to help with the effects of the Coronavirus.

Brees played a big part in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina and he is proving once again when his community needs someone to step up, he is ready.

As of Wednesday evening, there were almost 1,800 cases of Coronavirus in the state of Louisiana and that number will continue to climb. Brees is doing everything in his power to help children, seniors, and families in need to get through this situation. Props to Brees and his family for stepping up again.
