The New Orleans Saints got some brutal news when it was announced that head coach Sean Payton would miss the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after testing positive for COVID-19. Fortunately, the Saints did get some good news on running back Mark Ingram amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Saints activated running back Mark Ingram off the reserve/COVID list on Friday, meaning that the veteran halfback is set to return on Sunday against the Buccaneers.

The Saints' COVID situation got a whole lot worse with the news that Payton will miss the game, but at least the New Orleans running back room is at full strength again with the recent Ingram update.

Ingram missed last week's Saints game against the New York Jets but told reporters that he was only experiencing minor symptoms, so it could have been a lot worse for the Alabama product.

The veteran halfback's return will take some pressure off of Saints star Alvin Kamara, who has handled a monster workload this season, as he is approaching a career-high in carries.

Ingram, who arrived for his second stint in New Orleans via a trade from the Houston Texans, has accumulated 363 scrimmage yards in five games, ranking third on the team.

The Buccaneers have a stingy run defense, and the Saints will have to take on their division rivals without head coach Sean Payton, though the task was made a bit easier with the news that Mark Ingram will be back in the lineup.
