The New Orleans Saints were eliminated from the playoffs by the Minnesota Vikings and Janoris Jenkins were among the most distraught players in the locker room. Despite being with the team for less than a month, New Orleans may look to sign Jenkins to an extension.

As the season was nearing an end, the New York Giants released Jenkins after he insulted a fan on social media. Upon being released, Jenkins became a coveted option for teams in need of some help in the secondary.

Among the few teams who attempted to add Jenkins, the Saints were able to claim the veteran cornerback. Jenkins would make his debut with the team in Week 16 against the Tennessee Titans.

Just a week after his debut, the playmaking cornerback corralled his first interception in a Saints uniform. In New Orleans' Wild Card contest versus the Vikings, Jenkins made his presence felt early in the game.

On Minnesota's first drive of the game, Jenkins forced a fumble on Adam Thielen to set the offense up with a short field. Drew Brees and the offense ended up settling for a field goal to give the Saints a 3-0 lead.

Following the Saints' heartbreaking loss, Jenkins expressed his disappointment in the defeat.

“It was tough,” Jenkins told Rod Walker of nola.com. “It hurt me, I can't front. We're going to come back next year and hopefully make it back and do better than we did this year.”

The 31-year-old corner spoke as if he is going to be back in New Orleans in 2020. Of course, Jenkins is slated to become an unrestricted free agent in the offseason.

It's evident that Jenkins wants to be part of the Saints' vengeful season in 2020. However, it will be up to the front office to decide whether or not he's part of the defense next season.
