The New Orleans Saints are reportedly set to meet with quarterback Will Grier, according to a new news report about the matter.

According to CBS Sports, Jay Gruden — the Redskins coach — has tried to entice him to the Pacific Northwest with a sushi roll dinner, but he'll have to compete with the Saints coaches for his attention.

According to reports, the QB “put on a show” for NFL teams at his pro day, and he's now thought to be rising up draft boards.

Grier has likely been a target for the Redskins for some time, but if his stock continues to rise, that could present a problem. Will Grier has been regarded as a “day two” prospect, but if he slips into the first round, the Redskins will have to either reach for him at No. 15, trade down a couple of spots, or trade back in to the late stages of the first round.

“There are some league observers who believe that the Saints’ perceived interest in Grier may actually be a means for the team to do some extra scouting on his teammate, wide receiver David Sills, in whom New Orleans has also expressed some consistent interest this off-season.”

Will Grier finished with 2,097 passing yards and 35 touchdowns over the course of his three seasons in college. We will definitely keep you posted on things as they develop.
