The game between the New Orleans Saints and the Los Angeles Rams was a dud, as the Rams won 27-9. However, Sean Payton believes one specific play in the game was terribly called.

The football came out of Jared Goff's hands and landed in the arms of Cameron Jordan. The defensive end then ran with the recovered ball to the end zone.

Saints fans watching the game were elated with the touchdown… until the referees blew the play dead, preventing the return from counting.

The call definitely affected the Saints' chances as the game was tied 3-3 at that point. The game's flow would have gone in an entirely different direction if the fumble was upheld.

Fans and analysts didn't hesitate on calling out the refs for the terrible call. Skip Bayless and Michael Detillier gave the officials flak for the officiating error.

Jordan was obviously furious with the decision, as recorded by nola.com:

“I ran 80 yards for nothing?” Jordan was overheard on the broadcast asking on the sidelines following the ruling.

Payton was obviously disappointed that the call didn't go his way, but there was nothing he could do about it. The game is over and he has to get over the result.

The only thing the Rams can do now is to focus on their next opponents. They will face the Seattle Seahawks, who managed to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers.
