In Week 5, the New Orleans Saints went up against the Washington Football Team. It was a solid performance out of New Orleans, as they walked away from the contest with a victory. However, utility player Taysom Hill was knocked out of the game with a concussion.

The head injury was a bit serious, as Hill missed several games. It's alarming to realize that Taysom Hill still might not be 100% as he hasn't earned the starting quarterback role since the Saints lost Jameis Winston for the season.

According to Amie Just, Hill has no recollection of exactly what happened. All he remembers is the play, “but the hit, getting carted off the field, the 45 minutes that came after? No.”

Concussions have been taken much more seriously in recent years. It used to be an injury the NFL would sweep under the rug, but not anymore. Taysom Hill's concussion is noteworthy, as it's taken several weeks for him to overcome. Hill recalls the incident that knocked him out of the game, but there isn't much he remembers.

“There basically was like a 45-minute window that I don't remember. I remember being in a locker room was the first thing.”

When the injury concurred, Hill was carted off of the field. He was moving and seemed aware of his surroundings. Even so, the Saints quarterback doesn't remember anything until he was in the locker room.

Thankfully, it seems Taysom Hill is recovering from the concussion and working his way back into the Saints' offense. With Winston out for the season and Trevor Siemian being inconsistent, New Orleans may rely on Hill's presence under center.

We'll see how it plays out, as the Saints have a tough test against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. With Alvin Kamara already ruled out, Sean Payton might have to find a way to get Taysom Hill involved early and often.
