Oakland Raiders tight end Jared Cook will be one of the more notable tight end prospects set to hit the market this offseason. It seems the New Orleans Saints could be among the teams interested in his services.

Cook is coming off a career year in Oakland. According to Marc Sessler of NFL.com's Around the NFL, the Saints could look to bolster their offense with another viable weapon in the passing game.

Creative Saints coach Sean Payton boasts a track record of maximizing athletic tight ends. The pairing of Drew Brees and Cook spinning tricks would serve as a deep nuisance to defensive coordinators everywhere. Cook spent last season as the most valuable player inside Oakland's offense and hits free agency as a talented and versatile producer. The Raiders want him back, but what's not to like about joining a Super Bowl contender?

Cook was the lone bright spot in an otherwise lackluster Raiders offense. He finished the 2018 campaign with career-highs in receptions (68), yards (896), and touchdowns (six). The timing of his stellar performance should help his market value this offseason.

The prospect of New Orleans picking up a player like Cook is certainly not too far-fetched. His skill set as a bonafide pass-catcher would make him a seamless fit in their offense. It would also provide quarterback Drew Brees with yet another safety net underneath.

The Saints boasted one of the most high-powered offenses in the league this season. However, they will have a notable gap at tight end with Benjamin Watson now retired. Cook would be a solid upgrade in the passing game if he were to go to New Orleans.
