Sunday's showdown between the San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints has been a verified shootout. Usually, games played in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome featuring the Saints and offense leads to monster numbers from quarterback Drew Brees and wide receiver Michael Thomas.

That was the case for the majority of the outing, but in the fourth quarter, the two linked up for a clutch score to keep the Saints in the contest.

The touchdown was the first of the day for Thomas and fourth for Brees, who tossed a quartet of scores in a single contest for the first time since Week 11 of last season.

Finding the end zone and exceeding the 100-yard plateau has become old hat for Thomas, who has had an All-Pro season for the Saints. Entering the game leading the league in receptions and receiving yards, he notched his eighth 100-yard outing of the campaign.
