Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin is hopeful that he'll be able to suit up for Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers. Baldwin did not play in Seattle's Week 14 game against the Minnesota Vikings due to a hip injury, which caused him to miss the team's practices leading up to the Monday night showdown.

And at this point, the star wideout remains day to day while hoping he'll be ready to go for this weekend's important matchup, according to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times.

Baldwin currently has 37 receptions for 388 yards and two touchdowns this season while continuing to be a primary focus in the Seattle passing attack. The eight-year pro had a season-high 10 targets in the mid-November win over the Green Bay Packers and now has two touchdowns in the past three games that he's been on the field.

Pete Carroll's team moved a step closer to securing a playoff spot with the win over Minnesota, so now it's just a matter of keeping the momentum going and not letting up during the stretch run of the season.

The Seahawks are sitting at 8-5 on the year and own the No. 5 seed in the NFC at the moment, and it would obviously be nice to have a healthy Baldwin in action for the three crucial games ahead.

After the matchup with the Niners, Seattle will have back-to-back home games to wrap up the regular season as the Kansas City Chiefs and Arizona Cardinals will both venture to CenturyLink Field.
