With the 2020 NFL Combine in full wing, Seattle Seahawks fans are taken back to last year's events when wide receiver DK Metcalf was making waves with his physical prowess. All the hype he generated ultimately culminate with a shirtless interaction with head coach Pete Carroll.

The pair were introduced in comical fashion when they met with their shirts off. Carroll recalls having no idea of what would take place, via Henry McKenna of USA Today:

“Coming out of here, I don’t think there is anybody that would make me take my shirt off,” Carroll said at this year’s combine on Tuesday. “He couldn’t have been more impressive. Through our process we just didn’t see the negatives that other people saw, you know. So we were very fortunate that he was there when we had our opp. And, uh, it was a really extraordinary moment when he was still there and we picked him.”

Although walking into a job interview shirtless is not exactly the best way to make a strong first impression, it clearly worked for Metcalf this time around after inspiring Carroll to do the same. Seattle would go on to take him in the second round off the 2019 NFL Draft, and he eventually established an integral role for himself in the passing game.

Metcalf finished his promising rookie campaign with 58 receptions for 900 yards and seven touchdowns. Despite all that he did to turn heads during the draft process, he still managed to emerge as quite the steal for the Seahawks.
