Seahawks' quarterback Russell Wilson wants to be in the league for many more years. Currently 32 years old, the star has stated a myriad of times that he wants to play until he is in his mid-40's.

Wilson looks to follow a similar timeline to the 44 year old Tom Brady, who hasn't showed serious concerns of declining from an elite level of play. Brady was 43 years old when he led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the Super Bowl. Aside from his playing career, the Seahawks' star would also like to own an NFL team, as he wants to continuously be involved with the game of football. He currently already has ownership experience as a minority owner of the Seattle Sounders, a soccer franchise in the MLS.

In the 2021 season, the veteran quarterback missed games for the first time in his career with a finger injury. Prior to that, Wilson had played in all 16 games of every season since 2012. He realized how much he loved the game, and why he wanted to play until his body wouldn't let him. Per Charean Williams of NBC Sports, Wilson stated:

“I knew I was wildly crazy about the game, but I’m ridiculously obsessed with it. That’s why I want to play 20-plus years.”

In his accomplished career so far, Wilson has been named to eight Pro Bowls, while also winning the Super Bowl XLVIII against the Denver Broncos. The face of the Seahawks looks to add more to his resume, cementing his place as one of the best quarterbacks ever to play.

However, the Seattle Seahawks are struggling more than expected this season. With Wilson as the quarterback, the team has had a winning record since 2012. Yet this year, the Seahawks are 3-6 in one of the toughest divisions, the NFC West. Russell Wilson will need to display his world-class talents and winning mentality in order to not only save Seattle's season, but also his status as one of the top quarterbacks in the league.
