Every year, there are countless stories of players finally living out their dreams as NFL players. The 2018 NFL Draft was headlined by the Seattle Seahawks' selection of former Central Florida linebacker Shaquem Griffin in the fifth round.

Despite being one of the most dominant defensive players in college football last season, Griffin's chances of getting drafted did not seem possible until it actually happened. According to Curtis Crabtree of Pro Football Talk, he is ready to silence the critics once and for all:

“There have been so many doubters in everything I do. I still have doubters now. I’m glad I’m on the right team, and I am with guys that I will be able to grow with, and better myself. I will be able to unleash everything that I have been holding to the other teams that didn’t give me a shot,” Shaquem said on Saturday.

Griffin was perhaps the most underrated prospect on the most overlooked school in the nation last year. However, he continued to turn heads every step of the way at the Senior Bowl and Scouting Combine. As a result, his draft stock finally started to soar.

It goes without saying that Griffin certainly has the talent to make it happen. He also happens to be in the right situation alongside his twin brother and cornerback Shaquill Griffin.

Seattle has undergone some major changes this offseason, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Griffin could be just what it needs to help provide that spark back into a unit that was once the most feared in the NFL.
