The Seattle Seahawks have gone through some major personnel changes this offseason on the defensive side of the ball with several of their cornerstone players finding new homes in free agency, including Richard Sherman. One of the few remaining pieces on the team that has been a staple for years is All-Pro safety Earl Thomas.

There have been a plethora of trade rumors involving his possible departure from the Seahawks after spending his first eight seasons in the league with the organization. According to Gregg Bell of The News Tribune, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports has informed him that there are several different teams that have spoken with Seattle about acquiring the 28-year-old, including the Dallas Cowboys.

The Seahawks clearly have a strong trade market for Thomas' services, but there appears to remain some stinginess in getting what they believe is a suitable package of assets in return for him. Recent reports suggest that the team is looking to garner first and third round picks for their safety in any proposed deal.

Despite dealing with nagging injuries over the last couple of seasons, Thomas has remained one of the top players at his position. He is coming off another highly productive year where he recorded 88 total tackles and a pair of interceptions in 14 games played. Thomas also has an impressive track record with six Pro Bowl selections, three First-Team All-Pro nods, and two Second-Team All-Pro selections.

Throughout this process, the Cowboys have been linked to Thomas given that they play less than an hour from his hometown of Orange, Texas and near his school, the University of Texas. There was also the incident following the regular season meeting between the Seahawks and Cowboys that saw him seek out head coach Jason Garrett to tell the team to pursue him.

Ultimately, this situation is starting to lean heavily toward the Seahawks moving on from Thomas at some point this offseason, possibly ahead of the upcoming draft next month.
