Final Fantasy VII fans can now rejoice as Sephiroth becomes the latest DLC entry in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. His inclusion was announced on the Game Awards. He becomes the second Final Fantasy character to appear in the game alongside his archrival Cloud Strife.

The video revealed Sephiroth rampaging his way past numerous characters which included Pokemon's Mewtwo and Metroid's Samus Aran. Lifting Mario with his katana was the biggest highlight of the video. It culminated with a battle with Cloud Strife similar to that of Advent Children.

By the end of the video, Sephiroth's unleashed his ultimate form.

Sephiroth can be described as a mixture of a long and short range zonal specialist similar to Injustice's Deathstroke or a short range zoner like Ghost Rider from Marvel vs. Capcom. His 7-foot katana and explosives make him a difficult fighter to approach. In addition, he can block attacks and cut platforms, showcasing his counterattacking prowess.

The video even revealed his iconic Hell's Gate move, which killed one of the most beloved characters in the franchise. It's interesting to see how his Supernova move will be executed.

Nintendo even announced a presentation which will happen on December 17 at 2pm PT to discuss more on their latest DLC fighter.

Sephiroth becomes the 78th character in the game. His inclusion could potentially be a boon to most Smash players and fans are hoping that he'll never end up as broken as Bayonetta. Nintendo has revealed in their website that there are three pending DLC characters.
