While it might feel the NBA season just ended, things are getting ready to ramp up again. Teams will open training camp next week, with the start of preseason just two weeks away. The offseason is a time for players to work on their game, but more importantly, get their bodies in proper condition for a long regular season. One player who has taken the necessary steps to get ready physically is Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid.

In a recent article for The Athletic, David Aldridge provided updates on multiple players around the league coming off serious injuries. Among the players mentioned was the MVP runner-up.

“After a summer full of rehab and rest, Embiid is a “full go,” per a league source, and will have a normal preseason load.”

Last season, Embiid was arguably the most dominant force in the league. If not for injuries, he likely would have beat out Nuggets center Nikola Jokic for the MVP award.

The All-Star center's biggest injury scare came in the opening rounds of the playoffs. After taking a nasty spill on a dunk attempt in game four vs. the Washington Wizards, Embiid was forced to take an early exit. It later came out that he suffered a small tear in the meniscus in his right knee.

Despite a scary diagnosis, Embiid would only miss one game. He continued to dominate the postseason, playing on one good leg. Since the Sixers' exit in the postseason, there has been little talk on Embiid's rehab. The latest reports show that things have moved along just fine.

This is great news for the Sixers with training camp getting ready to go underway. The Sixers will need a fully healthy Embiid if they plan on competing this year, and he appears to be ready to lead the charge.
