The offseason is usually the time for most NBA players to relax, and for Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons, the best way to spend time during the summer is playing video games. He shares the same hobby as teammate Joel Embiid, although the Australian sensation has confidently stated that he's better.

In an interview with ESPN's Tyler Erzberger, Simmons said that he can actually beat Embiid in any video game on PC, whether he knows how to play a chosen title or not.

“If you put me on PC, I’ll destroy him. He plays FIFA. I can beat him in FIFA. Here’s the thing: I don’t play FIFA, but I’ve beaten him in a game of FIFA. I can play any game.”

When asked why he's pretty confident with his gaming skills, Simmons credits it to experience.

“I've been playing my whole life. The first game I really got into was Resistance for Playstation. That was the shooter I played. And then from there I started playing Call of Duty, picked all those up and eventually got into PC gaming a little later [with Counter-Strike], PUBG, a little bit of Fortnite — not too much Fortnite, because I'm not into building stuff. It's too much.”

Embiid has yet to respond to these comments by Simmons, although the latter said that the former has the edge over him in one thing, trash-talking.

“Yeah, but that’s easy. I leave that to him.”

No surprise there.

Guess we'll just have to wait for Embiid to prove Simmons wrong.

If he can.
