Ben Simmons has started this season in record fashion, putting himself in the company of greats after becoming the first since Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson to net a 100-50-40 line through his first six games. Ask Simmons, and he still thinks he can do better than what he's shown.

The 21-year-old is averaging 18.4 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 7.7 assists through seven games and he’s still far from satisfied.

“I thought I’d be playing better, honestly,” Simmons said prior to Monday's game against the Houston Rockets, according to Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer. “I need to pick it up. It’s awesome [being in the NBA]. I wouldn’t want to do anything else. I love what I do. I’m just grateful to be here, just got to keep working.”

As many others have noted, the only thing keeping Simmons from being an absolute nightmare in this league is a consistent jump shot — a caveat the Aussie point-forward knows will take his game to the next level.

“It’s going to be pretty tough to guard me,” he said when asked what a reliable jump shot would do for his game.

Yet Simmons' incredible feel for the game has enough dynamic to help him shoot 53.5 percent from the floor, maximizing his efficiency with an all-around array of finishes at the rim.
