It has been made quite clear over the last few months that the Philadelphia 76ers are more than open to trading wantaway point-forward Ben Simmons. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the Sixers have made a lot of progress in that regard.

According to NBA insider Marc Stein on his Spotify Greenroom podcast, the lack of talks about Simmons in the recent G League Showcase in Las Vegas speaks volumes of the interest for the Australian playmaker, or in trade deals in general.

“I have to say, just having spent three days in the gym with lots of NBA executives, I heard so little about Ben Simmons in Vegas. Just remarkably little,” Stein explained, per Ky Carlin of Yahoo Sports.

“That just illustrates, to me, just what a secondary thing trade pursuits are at the moment whereas normally, I think in that kind of environment, even if there was nothing happening with Ben, just kind of Ben predictions would have been flying around the gym and you just really didn’t get much of that.”

Of course, it doesn't mean there are no trade talks going on for Ben Simmons. Given the fact that Doc Rivers recently talked about the possibility of the 25-year-old never playing for the Sixers again, one could assume there are some things happening behind the scenes.

Nonetheless, it has to be a bit concerning for the Sixers that there isn't a lot of trade chatter about Simmons in an even where it's perfect to discuss such matters. It might be because of the current concerns about COVID-19, or maybe Philly's asking price is just impossible to meet.

For Sixers fans, though, hopes are high that they could just put an end to the saga and move on.
