Someone has to be the scapegoat after the Sixers' season came to an end on Thursday night at the hands of the Miami Heat. Some believe it's James Harden, while others have aimed their pitchforks in the direction of coach Doc Rivers.

The 60-year-old Sixers shot-caller is having none of it, though. Rivers got very defensive the moment he was asked about his job security with the 76ers during his post-game press conference:

“I don’t worry about my job. I think I do a terrific job and if you don’t then you should write it. I work my butt off to get this team here,” Rivers said (h/t Ryan Gaydos of Fox News). “When I first got here, no one picked us to be anywhere. And again this year, the same thing. If that’s how anyone feels, write it.

“Every time you’re wrong, should you lose your job? No. So, it’s the same thing. If you believe that, then go with it. I know what I did this year and I feel very good about that,” added the Sixers coach.

Rivers was in an understandably sour mood after the Sixers were eliminated from the playoffs. As he said, they worked extremely hard to get to where they are, and seeing this all come crashing down is an undeniably tough pill to swallow.
