After years of toiling in planned obscurity and taking all the punches, former Philadelphia 76ers general manager Sam Hinkie is being held in rockstar regard by the team’s fans who are now trusting the process.

Things are finally looking up in the City of Brotherly Love as the Sixers are set to reap the reward of their patience. The product of all those tanking, namely Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, Dario Saric, and Markelle Fultz, will be playing together and their mere presence instantly adds a jolt of electricity unto the fanbase.

Recently-signed shooter JJ Redick, in his interview with Alex Kennedy on The HoopsHype Podcast, showered praises on the people responsible for the Sixers’ uprising—including Sam Hinkie.

“As these guys get older and get more experience, I think there’s an opportunity to make a leap and really be one of the elite teams not only in the East, but in the NBA. That’s a credit to Sam Hinkie, Bryan Colangelo and to their owners.”

Hinkie may no longer be connected with the team, but his imprint will be engraved in the franchise for years. Meanwhile, Redick’s addition to the Sixers is seen as a significant move being the experienced veteran and specialist that he is.

The playoffs are definitely within sight for Team Process as a first step in their journey to becoming elite.
