There was plenty of buzz surrounding the Philadelphia 76ers coming into the 2017-18 NBA season. Needless to say, the hype is real with the Sixers now ahead 3-1 in their series against the Miami Heat.

Despite a couple of close games, Philadelphia has largely been in control this series. As good as they have been, shooting guard JJ Redick feels the team can be much better moving forward, according to Brian Seltzer of Sixers.com:

“We have a lot of room to improve. We can play a lot better. Main thing for us in being better with the ball.”

Redick added that their success this season has resulted in higher expectations for the team.

Redick says Sixers success has exceeded expectations. Aspirations, he said, are now higher than first round.
Despite multiple warnings to “Trust the Process,” there was still doubt surrounding the Sixers due to their injury-riddled past. That said, very few had them making the playoffs, let alone as the third seed albeit in the Eastern Conference. Now there are some who have even gone so far as to suggest Philadelphia could even make a serious run at championship contention.
Needless to say, Redick will need to find his rhythm from deep if the Sixers are going to have a chance. The veteran finally managed to get it going in Game 4 after a rough couple of outings. He finished with 24 points, three assists, and three steals. However, Redick still has yet to find his stroke from deep after going 4-of-21 from the 3-point line over the last three games.
Fortunately, Philadelphia is likely more enamored with the fact that no spotlight is too big for their star duo in point guard Ben Simmons and center Joel Embiid. Regardless of how this year plays out, it is safe to say that the Sixers far exceeded expectations. However, this has only raised the bar for the team moving forward.
