The Philadelphia 76ers' season officially came to an end on Sunday as they bowed out to the Atlanta Hawks in what turned out to be an epic second-round series. After the game, Joel Embiid shared his unfiltered thoughts on what had just transpired as well as what lies ahead, and despite the heartbreak, what the All-Star big man had to say should get Sixers fans excited for next season.

Embiid was quick to send out a stern warning to the rest of the NBA. According to the 27-year-old center, The Process is far from over:

“[I] just gotta be better. Personally, I felt like I took a huge step this year, and there’s so much more I can do,” Embiid said, via Michael Kaskey-Blomain of CBS Sports. “I can be so much better… There’s so much more I can do. I progressed a lot this year, and next year I’m going to be even better…”

Embiid did not stop there. He also took full responsibility for the Sixers' current predicament. Much has been made about how Ben Simmons was the reason behind Philly's downfall and how many believe that he should be traded. However, Embiid made it abundantly clear that he's taking the blame here:

“It’s on me. I got to be better,” Embiid admitted. “I got to take another step with it comes to taking care of my body, and my game as a whole because I still feel like I have a lot of untapped potential that people haven’t really seen.”

This is exactly the type of message Sixers fans are hoping for right now from their cornerstone superstar. Embiid has refused to take on a defeatist attitude and instead, has already set his sights on an even better campaign next season.
