The Cleveland Cavaliers shocked many Friday night by defeating the Philadelphia 76ers at home. The Cavs won by a final score of 121-112. When asked by reporters postgame how the Sixers lost to the lowly Cavs, star big man Joel Embiid referred back to one of Tristan Thompson's quotes from the beginning of the season.

Thompson said before the year started that the Cavs still run the Eastern Conference until someone knocks them off. Cleveland has been to four-straight NBA Finals, but that was with LeBron James leading the way. Now that LeBron is gone, the Cavs are one of the worst teams in the NBA.

Joel Embiid is clearly joking around here. The Cavs are now 3-14 on the season after Friday's win. Tristan Thompson had a solid game on Friday. The big man finished with 18 points and 13 rebounds in 35 minutes of action. Embiid, meanwhile, had 24 points and 12 rebounds.

This was a bad loss for the Sixers, but sometimes these games happen. The Cavs may be a bad team, but they still have NBA players on the roster. Some nights, guys are just feeling it and shots go in. That was the case on Friday for the Cavs.

The Sixers will look to rebound from this loss when they take on the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday.
