The Philadelphia 76ers recently signed Marco Belinelli after he cleared waivers, and he couldn't be more excited.

When the singing become official, Belinelli tweeted a confirmation of the deal, but it wasn't the number of years or dollar amount, or even the garden-variety “I can't wait to set started with my new team and thank you old team for all you've done” message.

Instead, Belinelli used a message that has become the unofficial slogan for the entire city of Philadelphia.

For those that don't know, “Trust the Process” is a term that former 76ers general manger Sam Hinkie used to quell the concerns of fans who were upset the franchise was franchise was taking several seasons in order to get a good change at a transcendent player in the draft.

Once Joel Embiid started showing how good he was, he started using the phrase all the time, and even nicknamed himself “The Process.” Now people say it just to say it. It's become something of a pop culture sensation. Fans even chant the phrase during home games from time to time.

So the fact that Belinelli is now using the phrase to announce his arrival to the 76ers is nothing short of amazing, predictable and hilarious. Embiid and Belinelli should get along just fine. Maybe they'll just go around saying “Trust the Process” to each other in the locker room.

But for Belinelli, he could not have landed in a better situation. The 76ers need more outside shooting, and he will provide that on a consistent basis.
