The Philadelphia 76ers gave up everything but the kitchen sink in their blockbuster trade for James Harden back in February. Right before the trade deadline, they traded Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond, and multiple draft picks to the Brooklyn Nets. In exchange, the team acquired Harden and Paul Millsap.

Months later, the Sixers could be reacquiring one of their players lost in the trade. NBC Sports Philadelphia's John Clark tweeted Thursday afternoon that the team is interested in signing Drummond in free agency. However, there's a pretty big catch. Clark notes that the Sixers might not be able to pay Drummond the salary he's looking for.

Drummond is coming off of his one-year, $2.4 million deal with the Sixers, which he finished with the Nets.

This is very similar to the Sixers' situation with Miami Heat free agent PJ Tucker. Just a few days ago, the team expected James Harden to opt into his $47 million player option. If he exercised the player option, the Sixers wouldn't have enough cap space to sign Tucker. Fortunately, Harden sacrificed the giant paycheck to benefit the team, and Tucker is expected to sign a $30 million deal soon.

It's going to be tricky to free up more money to acquire Drummond in free agency as well.
