Former Suns player Eddie Johnson is not impressed with videos of Philadelphia 76ers guard Ben Simmons hitting jumpers. The NBA veteran claimed that he'd actually rather see videos of Simmons missing than making shots to be truly impressed:

“It's repetition, man. You gotta keep doing it even when he starts missing,” Johnson said. “I'd rather see a video where he's missed eight in a row, I would be impressed because he kept shooting it. That's what I want to see him do. That's what he has to, he's gotta get that confidence to do that. I think that video is a waste of my time.”

While Simmons is never going to put out a video of him bricking a bunch of three-pointers, Johnson makes a good point. No matter how many videos Simmons has of him knocking down shots in warm-ups, it doesn't matter one bit until he has the confidence to shoot the same way in live game situations.

We know Simmons has the capability to make a three-pointer, but we need to see him be bold enough to actually play through the misses. Simmons will never be a knockdown shooter, but he becomes a much bigger threat with even a respectable jump shot.

The Australian point guard just signed a massive deal with the Sixers. We'll have to see if it motivates him to be bolder with his shot selection next season.
