Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons met with the team on Friday and made it clear that he's not mentally ready to play quite yet. By no surprise, his Sixers teammates were asked about the whole situation. Tobias Harris gave a heartfelt response and made it very clear that he has Simmons' back.

Via Sixers Wire:

“I think we have to really understand that he’s a human first and if he’s going through something at that time, we have to respect that and be there for him as a team, an organization, fans, all the way down the line because when he’s in here putting on a show and helping the Sixers get wins, everybody’s cheering and praising, but we live in a ‘what have you done for me lately’ type of world and when that’s not the case, it’s easy to turn around,” Harris added. “I think at this time, he needs more support than neglect.”

To be honest, Harris makes a great point. We really don't know what Simmons is going through. The only thing the Sixers organization and fans can do right now is support him. However, that might not be so easy for the supporters, considering how hard-nosed they are in Philly.

There's currently no timetable for when the Aussie will be back with the organization. Joel Embiid also sent a message to the Sixers fans prior to Friday's contest saying that everyone should have his back. Whether these messages hit home or not remains to be seen, but evidently, Ben Simmons just needs time to get his mind right. Or at least that's what it seems like.
