The Philadelphia 76ers lost a chance at a sweep on Monday night against the Washington Wizards with Sixers star Ben Simmons having another rough night from the charity stripe. With the game still up in the air down the stretch, the Wizards opted to send Simmons to the line intentionally which worked wonders for the visiting squad.

Check out the Wizards' ‘Hack-A-Ben' strategy to help them win Game 4 (via @jefferyl21):

Simmons was sent to the free throw line four times in the last three minutes and, unfortunately, split all his four trips which gave the Wizards enough room to steal Game 4 with a 122-114 victory. The 24-year-old ended with a 5-11 clip from the charity stripe which ultimately cost his team the potential sweep.

Prior to Game 4, Simmons was already shooting horribly from the line the entire series. According to NBA Central, the three-time All-Star is now shooting just 25% (5-20) from the free throw line after four games. Simmons hadn't actually made a single shot from the free throw the whole series before Monday night's game in Washington.

The Wizards obviously knew what they were doing. Even before the game, Washington head coach Scott Brooks already alluded to the ‘Hack-a-Ben' strategy and mentioned that it was ‘definitely in play' for Game 4 (via @Tom Moore of USA Today).

Simmons had to step up big time in Game 4 given that MVP-candidate Joel Embiid had to exit the game after just playing 11 minutes due to a knee issue. Woefully, Simmons dropped the ball, and the Sixers will have to try and pull off a ‘gentleman's sweep' in Game 5 in Philly.
